Kiteboarding spot La Grande Cote (Fromentine)

La plage de la Grande Cote is a vast sand beach with dedicated kitezone on the ocean-facing seaside of Fromentine. Small lagoons form within the sandbanks, where medium size waves can occasionally break in strong NW winds.
Flat water at low tide. Wind from south to north west. Spot suited for beginners, as is particularly uncrowded and low tide offers standing-depth shallow waters.
Directions:
• From Nantes: 65km direction Noirmoutier island (Ile de Noirmoutier) just before the Noirmoutier bridge turn right and drive to the west beach.
Beach rules:
Respect the kite zone (right of the car park).
Wind details:
• Average temperature: summer around , only boardshorts needed. Fall to spring a wetsuit is needed. Quiet cold in winter. • Wind: thermal wind from NW from April to July.
